AQR, Khorasan Razavi governorate-general ease Razavi pilgrimage for foreigners
Hoj. Mostafa Faqih Esfandiari, Astan Quds Razavi’s deputy for international affairs, and pilgrimage deputy of Khorasan Razavi governorate-general have signed an agreement to facilitate pilgrimage at Imam Reza Shrine for non-Iranian pilgrims.

The two sides revealed pilgrimage diplomacy project and formed a joint secretariat for facilitating pilgrimage of Pakistani and Iraqi pilgrims.
Hoj. Faqih Esfandiari said: “Implementation of grand project of pilgrimage diplomacy was agreed upon by promoting a synergy between capacities of deputy office for international affairs of Astan Quds Razavi and governorate-general’s deputy office for pilgrimage”.
Esfandiari added: “To realize this idea and avoid sparse and scattered actions, a specialized secretariat of pilgrimage will be established at Astan Quds Razavi’s deputy office for international affairs. The secretariat will be responsible for observing problems and following executive strategies between governmental entities and the holy shrine”.
He further stated: “An important issue is obstacles and restrictions the Iraqi and Pakistani pilgrims face while heading to Mashhad. These problems require urgent intervention and careful planning”.
Concluding his remarks, Astan Quds Razavi’s deputy for international affairs said: “Our ultimate goal is to make all lovers and pilgrims of Imam Reza (AS) free from any concern and difficulty while moving toward holy city of Mashhad”.
At the end of the meeting, the two sides called for continuity of expert meetings to review feedbacks received from implementation of pilgrimage diplomacy project.
