Imam Reza Shrine hosts ceremony to celebrate Islamic Republic Day

The Islamic Republic Day ceremony at Imam Reza Shrine had a unique atmosphere. Visitors and caretakers from all walks of life and ages held the papers saying “Yes to the Islamic Republic of Iran” in memory of April 1, 1979. These green sheets once represented the first unanimous “YES” vote of a generation and now came to life in people's hands. The papers were passed from hand to hand, from old to young, from caretaker to visitor, from stranger to friend, and it was this silent connection of hands that communicated: We are faithful to the very end.
