Upon arriving in Mashhad, the delegation entered Imam Reza Shrine, where servants of the holy complex and groups of pilgrims greeted them with flowers. The athletes, who had excelled in various beach‑sports disciplines at the Sanya Asian Games, expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and spiritual atmosphere.
Their achievements included gold medals secured in shot put, as well as in beach wrestling. In addition, the national beach kabaddi, beach water polo, beach soccer, and beach handball teams each earned gold medals, while the national “B” team in beach volleyball claimed silver.
During their visit, the athletes engaged in devotional rituals, reciting Salawat‑e‑Khassa of Imam Reza and Ziarat Aminollah. A heartfelt eulogy ceremony was also held as part of the spiritual gathering.
At the conclusion of the program, blessed gifts from Imam Reza Shrine were presented to the delegation, and the athletes were hosted at the shrine’s Karamat table. Their visit was arranged under the auspices of the National Olympic Committee and coordinated by Astan Qods Razavi (AQR).
