A high ranking delegation of Chinese economic actors and official representatives visited SEZ to examine cooperation opportunities and joint investment prospects.
The visit comes amid expanding economic interactions between Iran and East Asian countries and growing foreign interest in the region’s logistical and energy advantages.
The delegation included Zhang Shirong, member of the National People’s Congress of China, and Sun Shuilong, CEO of LONGi and a prominent figure in China’s electronics and solar energy industries, accompanied by senior managers and economic experts. They reviewed investment capacities and toured facilities across the zone.
At the start of the visit, Mohammadreza Rajabi Moqaddam, CEO of SEZ, introduced multimodal transport infrastructure including road, rail, and air connections.
He noted the zone’s proximity to Shahid Hasheminejad gas refinery, which supplies gas to several provinces, making Sarakhs a strategic hub.
The CEO highlighted Sarakhs as a gateway to Central Asia with access to a 350 million strong regional market.
He welcomed the Chinese delegation’s interest in renewable and solar energy investment and expressed hope for swift implementation of joint projects.
Elsewhere, Ansari, advisor to the governor and Sarakhs county governor, emphasized the region’s readiness to expand economic and technological cooperation with leading Chinese companies. He identified attracting investment in new energy and electronic industries as key development priorities.
The delegation toured infrastructure sites, development lands, and facilities of the economic zone.
In a specialized meeting with industrial and economic managers, both sides discussed potential areas and opportunities for joint cooperation.
