Imam Reza shrine covered in black to mourn Leader's martyrdom
Imam Reza shrine, in the northeastern Iranian city of Mashhad, have been covered in black and immersed in grief following the martyrdom of the Late Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayat. Seyyed Ali Khamenei on March 1.

The sudden martyrdom of Ayat. Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the late Leader of the Islamic Revolution, has spread a profound sorrow across Imam Reza shrine.
A heavy and heart-wrenching grief has descended the sacred sight, and stricken the hearts of pilgrims who have come to Imam Reza shrine.
The shrine and its precincts have been immersed in mouring and black inscriptions after the news of the Leader's martyrdom circulated in Iran. 
Courtyards of the shrine, including Enghelab Eslami, Great Prophet, etc. have been impacted with the devastating news - news of a great loss.
Pilgrims, men and women, kids, youths and the elderly, all overwhelmed with deep sorrow, broke out in tears, this time, not for their personal sufferings, but for the loss of Servant of Imam Reza (the late Leader).
Mourning processions from around the shrine were united with tears and gazes towards the sky. 
Servants, whose attires were drenched with tears, guided the mourning crowds.
The golden dome of the shrine was quickly clad in black, which signaled a solemn grief to the entire city of Mashhad.
Also, the drapes covering the tomb of Imam Reza were changed to black.
All pilgrims and residents' hearts were heavy with inconsolable grief after the loss of Servant of Nation. However, the Leader's aspirations will live on, like those of the Revolution.
