Sheikh Hassan al-Saadi, an organizer from the Khalis District of Iraq’s Diyala Governorate, addressed a commemorative gathering held at Qods Hall of Imam Reza Shrine in Mashhad, northeast Iran.
Speaking before national and regional dignitaries, he emphasized the deep spiritual ties between both nations, describing the Islamic Republic of Iran as an inseparable part of the Iraqi collective consciousness.
He noted: “The people of Diyala mobilized financial resources and emergency food supplies to support Iranian families immediately after military attacks by the United States and the Zionist regime began”.
He explained that Iraqi delegations traveled directly to Iran during the strikes, establishing roadside service pavilions across Tehran and the holy city of Qom to offer round-the-clock humanitarian aid.
Al-Saadi maintained that this partnership stems from shared religious convictions, asserting that Iraqi citizens stand fully prepared to commit their wealth and lives to protect the Islamic nation.
He expressed deep gratitude for Iran's historic solidarity during the conflict against Daesh, recalling how the strategic leadership of martyred commanders Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis and Lt. Gen. Qassem Soleimani reinforced territorial defenses and protected communities throughout Diyala.
Al-Saadi noted that the delegation’s pilgrimage to the Dar al-Zikr Portico inside the holy complex provided a solemn opportunity to honor the martyred Leader.
He recalled how diverse segments of Iraqi society, including women, children, and the elderly, assembled along the roads to assist logistics and receive his funeral cortege on its journey toward Karbala.
Concluding his address, he reaffirmed Iraq’s lasting devotion to this shared religious pathway, pledging sustained resources and assistance to uphold unity across the region.
