Pilgrims attend Eid al- Fitr prayers in Imam Reza Shrine

Worshippers filled the holy shrine, its courtyards and surrounding areas for the Islamic ritual which had coincided this year with the first day of Iranian New Year. 
The ceremony started by Mostafa Ahmadi’s recitation of verses from the holy Quran and continued by Eid anthem performed by Shrine’s Minarets Choir. Ahad Sabzi, Ahl al-Bayt panegyrist, had his eulogies as well. 
Images of the martyred Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, were displayed during the ceremony and the crowd plunged into silence of respect and sadness for a moment.
To hold this great congregation, shrine servants served arriving pilgrims from very early hours of the morning in various parts of the complex. Some 170 thousand packages of blessed sweets were also distributed among worshippers so that good atmosphere of this occasion would remain in hearts and minds of the participants.
