AQR hosts Data Governance for Data-Driven Governance event
In a joint move with Artificial Intelligence Faction of Iran’s parliament and its Research and Innovation Center, Astan Quds Razavi’s Islamic Research Foundation has cooperated in running an even Data Governance for Data-Driven Governance event in Mashhad.

A wide range of experts and elites gathered in Mashhad to exchange and discuss one of the most vital issues of Iran's development. This event was an intersection of politics, knowledge, and spirituality.
On the sideline of the second day of this event, Dr. Mohammad Mahdi Mehraban, director general of the legislative innovation center said: “Achieving goals defined in Iran’s seventh development plan is not possible solely through legislation; rather, mental convergence and brainstorming must be formed among various interested parties. This event was designed for this purpose that is creating lively dialogue among thinkers and implementers”.
He added: “Over these two days, we tried to simulate a real decision-making environment by creating a live laboratory. The discussions led to the drafting of a policy statement that reflects concerns, experiences, and ideas of all participants. This document is intended to be used in the legislative and oversight process”.
He further pointed out that the spirit of this event lies in its hosting adding, “Astan Quds Razavi was not just a host in this event, but a true companion and supporter. Part of our goal was to link country's intellectual and technological capacities with Astan Quds Razavi’s missions so that organization’s programs in the field of data governance and smartification could advance with greater momentum”.
Director general of the legislative innovation center also stated: “During these two days, AQR's IT managers, alongside national elites from various parts of the country, also discussed data-driven solutions for improving Razavi services to pilgrims, facilitating managerial affairs, and expanding smart communication among Astan Quds Razavi's affiliated institutions”.
Talking about badges of “We are all servants of Imam Reza (AS)” on the clothes of the attendees, Mehraban mentioned: "Almost all members of the event wore this badge. This was not just a symbol; it reflected a spirit that flowed throughout the program”.
The two-day event came to end by compiling a statement based on lived experience of experts and managers present. This statement is intended to serve as a basis for reforming major legislative processes, especially in the field of artificial intelligence and data governance, which is under review Iran’s parliament”.
The Data Governance Think Tank event in Mashhad managed to elevate the country's specialized discussions beyond a purely administrative setting and hold them in a spiritual, inspiring, and dialogue-centric environment, resulting in deeper collaboration, more impactful conclusions, and greater sincerity in serving country's progress.
