Ashir Myradov, governor of Balkan province in Turkmenistan, made his first journey to Mashhad and performed pilgrimage at Imam Reza Shrine.
He expressed reverence at the sacred site of the eighth Shia Imam and spent time in prayer and supplication.
The governor then visited the Quran Museum and the section displaying gifts presented by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, where he viewed rare works related to the Holy Quran.
He was also briefed on the wide range of services and round the clock programs of AQR for domestic and foreign pilgrims.
Describing AQR pilgrim services as valuable and inspiring, he praised the dedication of shrine attendants in providing facilities for visitors.
Myradov traveled to Iran at the invitation of the governor of Gilan Province. Out of respect for Imam Reza, he first visited the shrine before continuing to his main destination.
