Participants of the traditional ritual depicted their devotion to the path of Imamate and Vilayat by chanting “Labayk Ya Heiydar” and “Ya Ali”.
The public also swore their allegiance with new Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei.
Addressing participants of the ceremony, Hoj. Hossein Zaker, speaker of the mourning ritual, said: “Whoever considers himself a devotee of Ahl al-Bayt (AS) must be ready to challenge difficulties and martyrdom as these hardships are signs of honesty in loving Ahl al-Bayt (AS)”.
Hoj. Zaker also stated: “Under the threat of murder, Imam Hossein (AS) mentioned that Prophet Mohammad’s religion stays alive with my blood only and he did not ever become intimidated by these threats”.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he referred to the role of Iranian nation in continuing path of Imam Hossein (AS), saying: “Our nation has shown that even the most advanced weapons of the enemy cannot destroy spirit of faith in them”.
Chaharpayeh Khani (reciting eulogies on top of a stool) ritual dates back to more than 70 years ago; this ritual was restored in Imam Reza Shrine again by Astan Qods Razavi.
