AQR Carpet Company to expand production, services in 2026

Dr. Hamid Kargar, the CEO of Astan Qods Razavi Carpet Company announced that expanding production, developing markets, and improving service infrastructure are among the company’s main priorities for 2026. 
Dr. Kargar said: “The company will continue its path of growth by strengthening manufacturing capacity and introducing new artistic products while upgrading operational facilities”.
One of the company’s key responsibilities is supplying handmade carpets for Imam Reza Shrine. With the construction of two new porticos in the shrine complex, a large number of specially designed carpets will be required. To meet this demand, most of the production capacity of the company’s workshops in Mashhad and Kashmar will be dedicated to weaving carpets tailored to the specific dimensions and designs of these spaces.
Alongside producing carpets for the shrine, the company also plans to expand its presence in broader markets. Nearly 1,000 square meters of carpets will be woven through outsourced production in workshops operating under the company’s supervision in different cities. These carpets will feature diverse patterns, knot densities, and creative designs, allowing them to meet contemporary market tastes and the preferences of different buyers.
The company is also introducing new artistic products in 2026. Among them are “carpet calligraphy” panels created from pieces of blessed carpets previously used in Imam Reza Shrine. These artworks combine the traditional crafts of Persian carpet weaving and calligraphy, and each piece will include an identification certificate specifying the shrine location where the carpet fragment was originally used.
In addition to production and product development, the company is implementing several infrastructure projects. These include continued modernization of equipment and construction of an industrial drying facility for the carpet‑washing unit. The project, which includes installation of an industrial drying room and wind tunnel system, is expected to become operational in July 2026.
