Iran is a unique model of peaceful coexistence: Muslim activist

Coinciding with the International Islamic Unity Conference, the presence of pilgrims and thinkers from around the world at the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) has created a vivid display of spiritual solidarity among Muslims.
Emphasizing that the examples of “unity” and “togetherness” he has witnessed in Iran are rarely seen elsewhere in the world, Musa Ahmad said: “The generosity and kindness of the Iranian people, even under the pressures of external threats and war, are astonishing. This willingness to sacrifice for the ideals and goals they believe in is a characteristic rarely seen elsewhere in the world.”
He added: “When you are in Iran, you do not feel the external pressures and threats, because people continue their normal lives with the same spirit of generosity and sacrifice. This spirit is a lesson for all nations.”
The Tanzanian activist described Imam Reza (AS) as the “Imam of dialogue and unity,” saying: “Imam Reza (AS) can be presented as a global model for the unity of the Islamic Ummah. His approach to dealing with followers of different schools of thought and religions is a guiding light for the Islamic world, enabling it to move toward greater cohesion.”
Describing the situation of Muslims in his country, Musa Ahmad said: “In Tanzania, Shias, despite being a small minority, are successful individuals who are often active in the economic and commercial sectors.”
Regarding Tanzania’s Sunni community, he explained: “The history of Islam in Tanzania is deeply linked to the presence of Iranians and, later, Omanis. This historical presence not only influenced the Muslim community, but also contributed to the expansion of the Maliki school of thought in the region. The migration of Omani traders to Tanzania helped strengthen the Sunni community economically and socially, and these interactions have shaped the present structure of Tanzanian Muslim society.”
