Khorasan Razavi MPs support AQR development plans for Imam Reza Shrine 

Head of the Khorasan Razavi Representatives Assembly Dr. Behrouz Mohebbi Najmabadi expressed strong support for the demands put forward by Ayat. Ahmad Marvi, Custodian of Astan Qods Razavi.
“The assembly has prioritized reviving stalled rail and road projects, developing airports, and supporting investment to enhance pilgrimage facilities,” he emphasized.
Addressing the needs of the 30 million pilgrims who visit Imam Reza Shrine annually in Mashhad, northeastern Iran, Mohebbi Najmabadi stated: “This city is not merely a metropolis, but a sacred pilgrimage center serving as a sanctuary for Muslims from across the Islamic world.” 
He noted that the assembly aims to facilitate a seamless experience by coordinating with the government, parliament, and local municipalities.
Key infrastructure initiatives include the completion of the high-speed rail project and the revival of the "Shrine-to-Shrine" road, which has faced delays for over a decade. 
Furthermore, the assembly is advocating for the expansion of Mashhad and Sabzevar airports, including the development of an airport city, to manage increasing air traffic.
Mohebbi Najmabadi also highlighted the necessity of expanding pilgrim accommodations and welfare services. He noted: "The assembly will support investments in all sectors that lead to better services and more efficient infrastructure for pilgrims, as this is a shared concern between AQR and the devotees."
Regarding institutional coordination, the assembly is actively pursuing the establishment of a Parliamentary Affairs Department within AQR. The move aims to strengthen ties between the holy shrine and legislative bodies. The assembly intends to utilize its 18 representatives in influential parliamentary commissions to ensure the realization of these strategic goals.
