The 6th International Imam Reza Congress, held under the theme Human Rights and Human Dignity in the Civilizational Teachings of the Ahl al‑Bayt with emphasis on the teachings of Imam Reza, is scheduled to take place on May 31 and June 1, 2026 in Mashhad, northeast Iran.
In this context, the call for submission of abstracts and full papers has been announced for scholars and researchers.
The congress aims to examine the place of human rights and human dignity in the teachings and conduct of the Ahl al‑Bayt, particularly Imam Reza (the 8th Shia Imam), and to present a scholarly and civilizational reassessment of the role of these teachings in addressing contemporary challenges.
Organized under the auspices of Astan Quds Razavi’s (AQR) Scientific and Cultural Organization and in cooperation with the University of Tehran, the event adopts an interdisciplinary and civilizational approach.
It addresses broad themes related to human‑centered thought, social justice, ethics, philosophy and governance, seeking to highlight the teachings of Imam Reza as a source of balance and foundational human values in academic and intellectual fields.
Researchers and academics may upload extended abstracts of at least 1,000 words through the congress website at gcir.razavi.ir after registration.
The deadline for abstract submission is March 10, 2026. Abstracts must include the authors’ full names, email addresses and a phone number available on the Eitaa platform. Full papers may be submitted until April 10, 2026, and final acceptance will be announced on April 21.
According to the congress program, research topics are categorized into six main areas: theological, philosophical, social, political, civic and ethical fields. This structure is intended to provide a multidimensional and practical perspective on the concepts of human rights and human dignity.
The event is regarded as one of the leading academic events in the field of Imam Reza studies, Islamic perspectives on human rights and the civilizational philosophy of the Ahl al‑Bayt. With a history spanning more than four decades, it has hosted prominent scholars from Iran and abroad and has produced significant academic and cultural contributions.
Guidelines for authors, registration requirements and the full call for papers are available on the congress website. The secretariat may be contacted via gcir@ut.ac.ir.
