Evolutionary achievements of AQR’s Central Library in one year

Hoj. Seyyed Jalal Hosseini, head of Astan Qods Razavi’s Organization of Libraries, Museums, and Document Centers in a press briefing reviewed Central Library’s activities in last Persian calendar year which follows: 
Hoj. Hosseini said: “A library is a living and dynamic place, so continuous transformation is something necessary and inevitable. During last year, with the transfer of more than two million copies of printed books in specialized libraries, halls, and repositories, the organization's librarians have provided necessary conditions for efficient use of equipment and facilities paving the way for creation of fundamental changes”.
Hoj. Hosseini went to say: “Hundreds of thousands of precious copies of books including those belonging to the Dal al-Fonoun School period and lithographic books were transferred to the preservation sections”.
“Scientific reorganizing of Quranic manuscripts including three thousand and 500 copies and transfer of 150 thousand copies of the old unusable and low-reader books in order to promote library efficiency was another achievement of Astan Qods Razavi’s library during past year”, he added.
According to Hoj Hosseini, transferring specialized library of literature to the print depository and organizing resources of this field, creating a temporary storage for books in the central library for aggregation, dedicating books with frequent copies to other institutions and libraries, and doing extensive library checks in the print depository, releasing additional spaces and finally creating specialized subject halls are some other effective measures taken in AQR Central Library.
Head of the organization went on to say: “Combination of women’s sections of the Central Library with the purpose of creating a focus on facilities, and upgrading quality of services alongside organizing audio-visual section of the Central Library and combining it with Comprehensive Electronic Library are some other measures taken so far”. 
Hosseini further said that the Central Library also provided temporary studying halls for pilgrims coming from provinces affected by US-Israeli attacks in 12-day war. “Opening information center in women’s section of the Central library is also another service offered last year”. 
Hosseini stated that implementation of an integrated membership plan of the organization with a focus on Central Library and creating more integrated access for the members in all affiliated libraries is one of the worthwhile actions of the AQR library. 
Hoj. Hosseini continued: “Many different cultural and scientific events were held during last year thanks to various sections of the Central Library. These sessions were on advised topics such as Nahj al-Balagha and some research projects belonging to the library”.
 According to him, series sessions of “The Sun” and “The Sun of Kindness” were two other events of the center focusing on culture of sacrifice and resistance. 
“Other last year achievements include implementation of cultural programs such as 225 book classroom breaks, 1243 sessions of book therapy, 229 book contests, and 185 virtual exhibitions”.
