AQR reopens anthropology museum
Astan Qods Razavi’s deputy office for museums and cultural treasures has reopened its previously closed anthropology museum (Mahdi Qoli Beik Oublic Bath) concurrent with Karamat Ten-Day celebrations in the vicinity of Imam Reza Shrine.

Mahdi Qeysari Nik, AQR’s deputy for museums and cultural treasures, said: “In line with services of Iran’s Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts in urban historical neighborhoods of the country, AQR also opened its anthropology museum which had been closed since the beginning of the third imposed war”.
He stated: “This museum is an ancient and merit bathhouse with an age of over four centuries the building of which was constructed under the management and order of Mahdi Qoli Beik who was boss of Shah Abbas Safavid’s special stable in 1618”.  
Qeysari Nik added: “The most important feature of this museum is its ancient building that hosts anthropology museum. This building has been recorded in list of Iran’s historical buildings in 1997. It is one of the biggest bathhouses of the country depicting very beautiful structure of an old Iranian public bath”. 
Saying that this museum has got four sections with objects related to bathhouse and anthropology each, he stated: “The bathhouse has beautiful drawings the oldest of which turns back to Safavid era and the newest relates to Qajar era”.
Astan Qods Razavi’s anthropology museum is open from 8:00 to 18:00 on weekdays other than official holidays.
