AQR holds special program for female Azeri pilgrims

AQR holds special program for female Azeri pilgrims
Astan Quds Razavi’s Office for Foreign Pilgrims’ Affairs has held a special program for female Azeri pilgrims to Imam Reza Shrine.

The program named “Rezvaneh”, kicked off by recitation of verses from the holy Quran and continued by lectures on right manner of performing Razavi pilgrimage.
One prominent part of this program was a speech titled "In the Embrace of Love," delivered by Ms. Zahra Hoseinova in that she talked about mother of Imam Reza (AS) and her role and status in childhood of the eighth Imam (AS).
Hoseinova referred to various names of this noble lady in historical sources and recounted the story of her marriage to Imam Kazem (AS) at the suggestion of Hamidah Khatun, wife of Imam Sadegh (AS).
She also emphasized Najma Khatun's reputation for piety, worship, and religious knowledge, citing a hadith from her, which indicated scholarly status of this great lady.
Elsewhere, the speaker elaborated on three main lessons from life of this noble lady. First, selection is based on piety, as marriage of Najma Khatun to Imam Kazem (AS) shows that the main criterion in marriage is faith and morality. The second lesson is the spiritual influence of the mother on a child, and the third lesson is that the scientific flourishing of Imam Reza (AS) originated from upbringing and knowledge of a mother who was a knowledgeable woman.
Referring to existing discrepancies over names mentioned for this lady in historical sources, she emphasized that all these sources attest to her righteousness and piety.
The spiritual program concluded with presentation of blessed gifts to the participants.
