A group of Azeri-speaking female pilgrims gathered at Imam Reza Shrine on November 14, to commemorate the martyrdom of Hazrat Fatima, Prophet Muhammad’s daughter, in a special mourning ceremony titled “Rezvaneh.”
Held under the auspices of the Central Asia Department of the Office for Non-Iranian Pilgrims, the event began with the recitation of Hazrat Fatima’s Ziyarat (pilgrimage) prayer, expressing reverence and devotion to her memory.
Fatemeh Alizadeh, a religious scholar and speaker at the event, delivered a lecture on the qualities and attributes of a virtuous woman in Islam.
“Hazrat Fatima played a pivotal role in supporting the Prophet (pbuh) during his struggles against the disbelievers; she was actively present in both social and spiritual spheres”, she highlighted.
Alizadeh described Hazrat Fatima as a perfect model for Muslim women, noting: “She enjoyed an elevated status in worship and servitude to God”.
She also explained the meaning of one of her titles, “Umm Abiha” (Mother of Her Father), which reflects her deep compassion and support for the Prophet (pbuh) during the times of hardship.
The ceremony featured a variety of spiritual and cultural elements, including a devotional poetry performed by Azeri poetess Khiyaleh Ismailova, a session on religious rulings, and elegies recounting the suffering of Hazrat Fatima.
