Razavi Specialized Hospital in Mashhad inaugurated a new International Patient Department (IPD) at its Human Clinics Center, aiming to enhance services for foreign patients and their families.
The opening ceremony, held on December 29, coincided with the blessed days of Rajab and the birthday anniversaries of Imam Mohammad Taqi (al Javad) and Imam Ali, which hospital officials described as a sign of spiritual blessing.
Dr. Mohsen Mehvar, CEO of Razavi Hospital, emphasized the institution’s commitment to honoring international patients, often referred to as “health pilgrims” to Mashhad.
“Special guesthouses have been prepared to ensure families accompanying patients can stay in comfort during treatment”, he noted.
The hospital, affiliated with Astan Quds Razavi (AQR), recently achieved the highest score in the sixth round of national accreditation by the Ministry of Health, ranking first among 1,600 hospitals across Iran.
It was awarded the “Top National Accreditation Certificate,” a recognition Mehvar attributed to the collective efforts of staff in medical services, diagnostics, patient safety, environmental health, and respectful treatment of visitors.
Razavi Hospital has also distinguished itself internationally, becoming a leading center for medical tourism in Iran. For three consecutive years, it was selected by the Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade as one of the country’s top 50 foreign exchange earning institutions, marking the first time a hospital was recognized as a national model exporter.
In addition to expanding international services, the hospital is equipping itself with advanced cancer treatment technologies.
The CEO also announced the installation of a new linear accelerator, ordered by AQR’s custodian, to improve radiotherapy services for cancer patients.
He concluded that Razavi Hospital’s human resources, medical equipment, and service standards have made it a benchmark among non university hospitals nationwide, combining national excellence with international outreach.
