Concurrent with the arrival of a massive number of pilgrims in Mashhad during the final days of Safar, the Deputy Office for Pilgrim Services at the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) has implemented extensive special measures to ensure the comfort, health, and safety of mourners attending the final ten days of Safar mourning ceremonies.

Mohammad Shaban, deputy of pilgrim services at the holy shrine of Imam Reza stated: “Given the prediction of unprecedented presence of devotees and pilgrims in final days of Safar, all operational power of the deputy has been mobilized to facilitate pilgrimage and increase comfort of pilgrims in Razavi holy shrine”.
Referring to the necessity of preventing heatstroke among pilgrims, Shaban said: “In order to refresh atmosphere of Azadi, Kowsar, Ghadir, and Imam Hassan Mojtaba courtyards, as well as the walls of the traffic routes on the western and southern sides, and Bab al-Hadi and Bab al-Kazim of the Holy Prophet Courtyard, misting operations are continuously implemented so that a more suitable and calm atmosphere can be provided for presence of religious groups and mourning pilgrims”.
He added: “Service delivery during these spiritual days is around the clock, and all technical and service departments of the deputy are on full alert by monitoring atmospheric conditions and population levels in real-time, using modern cooling and misting equipment to ensure no disruption in pilgrims' pilgrimage process”.
Shaban noted: “These actions, along with other welfare measures, are aimed at ensuring maximum health and safety of pilgrims so that all devotees who have traveled from across the country and the world can benefit from spiritual moments of presence in Razavi sanctuary during mourning days of last ten days of Safar”.
