Ayat. Sadeq Amoli Larijani, head of Iran’s Expediency Council, underscored the centrality of economic welfare and national unity during a winter event at Dar al Elm seminary.
Addressing scholars and students, he affirmed; “Criticism is the right of every citizen but it must not be exploited as a signal by adversaries”.
He praised the Iranian nation’s steadfastness in the face of foreign pressure, noting that sanctions intended to cripple the country failed to force surrender.
“This resistance has a cost, but its price is national dignity and self confidence,” he said.
Amoli Larijani emphasized that under the leadership of the Leader, Iran has endured 47 years of threats and pressures, and warned that any miscalculation by enemies would be met with a decisive response.
Highlighting Iran’s capabilities, he stated: “The country’s strength exceeds the imagination of its adversaries, and even a fraction of this power was evident during the 12 day defensive campaign”.
He reiterated that the economy and livelihood of the people remain the foremost priority, consistently emphasized by the Leader.
The top official criticized poor management practices, hasty decisions, and sudden policy shifts that cause severe currency fluctuations.
He rejected pessimistic analyses portraying Iran as trapped in economic deadlock or widespread corruption, insisting that a nation with vast material and human resources, devoted youth, and diverse assets cannot be at an impasse.
“The real challenge”, he argued, “lies in management methods and flawed interpretations”.
He warned against reinforcing enemy calculations through distorted narratives, stressing, “Attempts to fragment Iran have been thwarted by public vigilance and leadership”.
He pointed to Western analysts acknowledging that Israel’s strategic aim is to divide Islamic countries, particularly Iran, similar to the Soviet Union’s disintegration.
Amoli Larijani emphasized that governance cannot rest solely on the executive branch; the legislature and judiciary must cooperate fully with the government.
Concluding, he reminded: “The Iranian nation has overcome even harsher times, and with solidarity, synergy, and coordination among institutions, it will continue to pay the price of independence and unity to preserve its dignity”.
