The ninth international pre‑session of the Sixth Imam Reza International Congress, held under the theme “Human Rights and Human Dignity in Imam Reza’s Teachings: Confronting Colonialism, Global Violence and Hybrid Warfare against the Iranian Nation,” took place on February 1, in Mashhad with international scholars and activists from several countries in attendance.
The pre‑session focused on explaining the dimensions of human rights and human dignity in Imam Reza’s teachings and examining approaches to countering colonialism, structural violence and hybrid warfare targeting the Iranian nation.
The event was hosted at the Islamic Research Foundation of Astan Qods Razavi, in Tabarsi Hall.
The academic and international gathering brought together university professors, researchers and media and cultural activists from Iran, the United States, the United Kingdom, the Republic of Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Syria, Australia and the Caribbean region to explore the capacities of Imam Reza’s thought in defending human dignity and confronting global hegemonic systems.
Speakers included Dr. Saeed Reza Ameli, Secretary of the congress and Dean of the Faculty of World Studies at the University of Tehran; Dr. Reza Bagheri, Head of European Studies at the University of Tehran and Secretary of the pre‑session; along with international figures such as Shahryar Mehdi Naqvi, Jafar Ali Ladak, Yeganeh Kowsar Naqi‑Eva, Zainab Askari (Torfat ul‑Ayn), Samer Naqd Ali al‑Hakim, Seyyed Farman Ali, Mohammad Hossein Taqi Nakhid, Morteza Ali Velayati, Marzieh Hashemi, Raqiya al‑Yusuf and Javad Esmaeili.
The pre‑session was organized in cooperation with Astan Qods Razavi, the Imam Reza International Congress, the University of Tehran and the Ahl al‑Bayt World Assembly.

The Sixth Imam Reza International Congress is held annually to elaborate Imam Reza’s teachings in cultural, social and human‑rights fields and to provide a platform for international academic dialogue. The congress brings together scholars, researchers and cultural and media activists from Iran and other countries to examine the capacities of Imam Reza’s teachings in promoting human dignity and countering cultural infiltration and hybrid warfare, fostering scientific and media cooperation among global communities interested in the teachings of the Ahl al‑Bayt.
