The nationwide “Masumehs of the Homeland” campaign was held on April 18 across 40 locations in Iran, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Hazrat Fatima Masumeh, the daughter of Imam Musa al‑Kazim and sister of Imam Reza, and with National Girls’ Day.
According to Fatemeh Dezhbord, director of the Women and Family Affairs Center of the Karamat Razavi Foundation, “The campaign went beyond a simple celebration. Teenage girls crafted symbolic pink rockets and aimed them at representations of arrogance, illustrating the connection between youthful joy and a spirit of resistance across the country”.
She said the initiative was organized to create spiritual vitality and strengthen a spirit of steadfastness. “The program included local celebrations, registration for specialized youth clubs, and the symbolic “pink rockets” display, portraying the link between spirituality and resistance among teenage participants”.
Dezhboard noted that various neighborhoods in Mashhad, northeast Iran, hosted decorated celebration areas with pink, girl‑themed displays suitable for the birth anniversary of Hazrat Fatima Masumeh.
The events also featured group chants, speeches by well‑known national figures, and ceremonies for girls reaching religious maturity.
At several event sites organizers created symbolic reconstructions of the Minab school, honoring the martyred girls of Shajareh Tayyebeh School. In these cultural stations, flowers were presented to visiting girls and local participants in recognition of their status.
A notable element of the campaign was the combination of youthful creativity with themes of resistance. Dezhbord stated: “Neighborhood organizers helped girls construct pink rockets for a symbolic attack on icons of arrogance, sending a clear message of awareness and steadfastness from the younger generation”.
She added that girls interested in ongoing participation were invited to join the “Dokhtigen” club to maintain year‑round engagement with the Women and Family Affairs Center.
The main sites of the nationwide campaign included 31 provincial capitals and eight locations in Mashhad and Minab, southern Iran. In Mashhad, the campaign was carried out across eight major points, with community‑based organizations in attendance.
