Ayat. Marvi warns division is enemy’s final tactic, urges officials to address people’s rightful demands

Ayat. Marvi warns division is enemy’s final tactic, urges officials to address people’s rightful demands
Ayat. Marvi, the Custodian of Astan Quds Razavi (AQR), told a large gathering in Mashhad that sowing division is the enemy’s last remaining tool, stressing that officials must take the people’s legitimate expectations seriously.

Ayat. Ahmad Marvi, the Custodian of Astan Quds Razavi, addressed a public gathering in the northeasterrn Iranian city of Mashhad held to condemn the recent unrest.
He said: “The Iranian nation has faced hostility, war, sanctions and conspiracies for 47 years since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, yet has consistently witnessed divine support and emerged with dignity in every challenge”.
He asked why such hostility toward the Iranian people persists, noting, “Despite nearly five decades since the Revolution, the behavior of hostile powers has not changed”.
“One reason is the Iranian nation’s commitment to independence and dignity, rooted in religious teachings and the example of the Prophet Muhammad and the Ahl al Bayt”, he noted.
He added that the nation refuses to bow to global oppressors and plunderers.
He described Iran’s strength as another reason for foreign hostility. “If other nations had faced the same pressures, sanctions and conspiracies, they would have collapsed, yet Iran has grown stronger, something intolerable for its adversaries”.

“Western powers once controlled Iran’s cultural, economic and political resources, but the Iranian people expelled them, and this fuels their desire for revenge”, he pointed out.
Ayat. Marvi said the Islamic Revolution cut the hands of arrogant powers from Iran and challenged Western liberal discourse by presenting the discourse of Islam and justice. “This is why new plots are constantly devised against the country”.
He referred to what he described as crimes committed by the United States and Israel during a twelve day conflict (13-24 June, 2025), saying, “They imposed war on the Iranian people and martyred civilians, commanders and scientists”.
The top official said the enemies failed due to public unity, military strength and the Leader’s guidance, and then turned to unrest as a new tactic.

The Custodian of Astan Quds Razavi further pointed to the recent unrest as designed to spread fear.
“Daesh is a creation of Western powers and crimes committed during the unrest resembled those of Daesh, including the killing of a young nurse, a three year old child and an ambulance driver, as well as arson against public property and attacks on homes and the Quran”, he described.
Ayat. Marvi said those who supported Daesh abroad should not expect success in Iran.
Stressing that Iran’s people and leadership differ from other nations, AQR’s Custodian criticized foreign figures who encourage unrest from afar, saying: “They failed even to protect the Shah, who had a powerful army and full control of the country”.
He said it is unrealistic for them to claim they can support a handful of rioters.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the custodian said: “Iranian youth are raised in the school of Ashura and follow the example of Hazrat Ali Akbar. When they believe they are on the path of truth, they do not fear death. However, Iran’s enemies cannot understand such values”.
He praised the patience and loyalty of the Iranian people, saying they have always fulfilled their duty in difficult times. “January 12, 2026 added another bright page to the nation’s record of resistance”.
Ayat. Marvi urged the officials to feel humbled before the people, whose rights exceed what they have received.
He called on the judiciary to act decisively and swiftly in handling cases related to the unrest, saying national security is a red line. “Those who supported unrest online are also accountable, regardless of their position, because they strengthened the enemy”.
He emphasized that the right to protest is separate from acts of violence. “Many people face economic hardship and market instability, but burning public property, killing civilians and desecrating the Quran and mosques cannot be called protest. Such acts are barbaric and influenced by foreign powers”.
He continued that creating casualties to inflame unrest is one of the enemy’s tactics, and that foreign powers do not care who is killed as long as their goal of destabilizing Iran is advanced.
Ayat. Marvi said the Iranian people do not shout for bread, because they are dignified, but injustice has exhausted them. “Corruption, monopolies and economic favouritism are lamentable realities in the country. Why are such issues not addressed and why does a small group control imports and exports? Officials must confront these problems and restore justice”.
He said he trusts the judiciary, executive and legislative branches, but officials must engage more with the people, visit workers and low income families, and listen to their concerns.
He urged parents to watch over their children, saying, “Even those who were misled are still part of the nation and future of the country. Families should balance criticism with acknowledgment of positive achievements to prevent youth from falling into despair”.

He emphasized the Leader’s call for unity, saying national cohesion is the most important element of Iran’s deterrent power. “Any action that harms unity is a betrayal of the nation and the blood of martyrs”.
Ayat. Marvi said hostile powers have tried every tactic for 47 years and failed. “Their only remaining hope is to destroy national unity, but with divine grace and public awareness, they will fail again”.
The custodian concluded by thanking all security, military and volunteer forces, as well as the Iranian people, for their sacrifices. He prayed for mercy upon all martyrs, especially those killed in recent days.
