Mahdi Soltanifar, CEO of Imam Reza Dar al-Shifa, announces full readiness of the center and implementation of an operational multi-layer medical coverage plan involving thousands of treatment staff and health volunteers on the day of Martyred Leader's funeral ceremony in Mashhad.

On the eve of the magnificent funeral ceremony of the holy body of the Martyred Leader in Mashhad, Soltanifar explained the programs, scenarios, and details of the national medical coverage plan for pilgrims, saying “The medical operation has begun in the form of three compact layers with extensive cooperation of Ministry of Health, Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, and thousands of health volunteers”.
He added: “In the first stage of the operation, nearly 100 equipped mobile teams will be deployed throughout the entire holy shrine”.
Soltanifar continued: “Each team consists of experienced treatment staff along with four rescuers for patient transport. These teams are equipped with emergency bags and are responsible for providing the first medical services on-site to injured pilgrims in the shortest possible time”.
He further noted: “Patients in unstable conditions are immediately transferred to the second stage. In this section, specialist doctors, general practitioners, and nurses provide treatment using advanced medical equipment such as electroshock devices, electrocardiograms (ECG) monitors, pulse oximetry, and other emergency facilities”.
CEO of Imam Reza Dar al-Shifa stated: “Finally, patients with more acute conditions will be transferred to the third section. Four strategic points within the holy shrine have been equipped as medical centers with hospital-level facilities and capacity to cover more specialized services and temporary hospitalization for subsequent stages”.
Soltanifar added: “This plan is a national one that has been designed and finalized with involvement and supervision of the director of passive defense of Ministry of Health and prominent national professors. Also, Mashhad University of Medical Sciences has dispatched its maximum forces, equipment, and facilities to support internal sections of the shrine”.
Soltanifar further clarified: “Dar al-Shifa and medical posts inside the shrine are responsible for medical coverage of pilgrims within shrine's inspection gates; meanwhile, outer perimeter and the streets leading to the shrine will be under the full coverage of mobile hospitals, ambulance buses, and ambulance fleet of University of Medical Sciences”.
Concluding his remarks, Soltanifar referred to the coordination, correspondence, and preliminary assessments that had been carried out for medical evacuation helicopters in case of critical need, adding, “Between 3,000 and 4,000 health volunteers have been organized to serve pilgrims during these days”.
