Noghani women hold epic ritual on Imam Reza martyrdom anniv.

The epic of Noghani women on the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Reza (AS) is one of the historical and lasting narratives held every year on the morning of Imam Reza's (AS) martyrdom with presence of a group of women devoted to this secure divine sanctuary. 
Dressed in black and with hearts full of sorrow, women participating in this gathering took firm steps toward Razavi shrine while carrying red flags of vengeance on their shoulders and pioneering a historical and epic path to engage in lamentation and mourning for the eighth Imam (AS) of Shia Muslims.
This year’s gathering had a different atmosphere. While mourning for Imam Reza (AS) and holding red flags, Mashhad women emphasized the necessity of avenging blood of the Martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution and chanted slogans of "Death to Israel" and "Death to America".
Mothers were seen with young daughters and grandmothers alongside their young grandchildren to be messengers of a lasting and historical heritage of women's movement in Shia history. Mothers and grandmothers were to transfer it, generation by generation, to future descendants.
This narrative has become one of the symbols of Mashhad people's devotion to Imam Reza (AS). A narrative of women who revealed their devotion and mourning toward the Imam and tied the name of Noghan to Razavi history.
From this perspective, epic of Noghani women is not just a historical memory, but a narrative that has continued in the culture of Mashhad people.
Continuing this path, Mashhad women gathered at Imam Reza (AS) Mosque and held "Resurrection of Iranian Women" assembly.
They honored memory and names of martyrs of third imposed war, especially the Martyred Imam and martyrs of Shajareh Tayyibeh School in Minab stepping toward the Razavi holy shrine to attend special ritual of this day in Dar al-Marhamah portico. This group of women showed the world that Iran of Imam Reza (AS) has women who have pledged their hearts to the love of the gracious Imam (AS). 
At the end of this ceremony, mourning women gathered in Dar al-Marhamah portico of the holy shrine and engaged in mourning and lamentation over martyrdom of the eighth Imam (AS).
Addressing participants of the ceremony, Faezeh Azimzadeh Ardebili, a professor at Imam Sadiq (AS) University, introduced Hazrat Reza (AS) as a clear model of guidance, insight, and safeguarding of pure Islamic teachings stating, “Ma'mun tried to influence path of Imamate with his policies utilizing Imam's position and bringing him to Merv; however, the wisdom and enlightening positions of Imam Reza (AS) neutralized this plan”.
The ceremony came to end by lamentation and elegy of Sayyed Ali Hosseini Nejad who mixed atmosphere of the ceremony with scent of sorrow and grief of martyrdom of Imam Reza (AS).
