Imam Reza Shrine hosts Arbaeen mourning programs for non-Iranian pilgrims

Mehdi Lesani, the director the Office for Non-Iranian Pilgrims’ Affairs at Astan Qods Razavi (AQR), announced details for mourning ceremonies marking the Arbaeen of Imam Hussein. 
These events, organized by the West Asian and Subcontinent sections of the office, aim to provide comprehensive cultural services to international visitors during this period of solemn commemoration.
Arabic-speaking pilgrims will observe the night of Arbaeen on Monday evening, August 3, at Ghadir Courtyard, featuring a lecture. The program includes the recitation of the Arbaeen pilgrimage supplication and mourning rituals. A midday service on Tuesday, August 4, will be held in Dar al-Rahma Portico, featuring a lecture.
Urdu-speaking pilgrims will gather in Ghadir Courtyard on Monday evening for a program featuring recitations. The evening will continue with eulogies and chest-beating rituals, followed by a lecture on religious teachings. A closing program on Tuesday evening will include the recitation of the Supplication of Tawassul and further elegies.
These programs reflect the efforts of the Office for Non-Iranian Pilgrims’ Affairs to serve the diverse international community visiting the shrine. 
By offering services in multiple languages and utilizing various porticoes and courtyards, AQR ensures that all pilgrims can fully participate in the spiritual commemorations. The events are designed to foster deep engagement with the religious history and martyrdom of the Prophet Muhammad’s grandson.
