Members of the Vaziri Library Literary Society, affiliated with the Organization of Libraries, Museums, and Documents Centers of Astan Quds Razavi, played an active role in the 5th International Congress of Monotheistic Poetry held in Meybod, Yazd Province.
The congress, held in Meybod University in late September, brought together poets from Iran and abroad across three categories: adult poetry, children and youth poetry, and non-Persian poetry.
The event also featured poetry readings, critique sessions, and educational workshops.
The closing ceremony was attended by Ayat. Alireza Arafi, director of Iran’s seminary system, along with Meybod’s Friday prayer leader and other officials.
Also, thirty distinguished poets were honored for their contributions.
Among the participants were Dr. Seyyed Mahmoud Elhambakhsh, president of Vaziri Literary Society, Dr. Mehdi Ghadaki, secretary of the society, and several other scholars.
Four participants were selected to present their poetry during the congress.
The Vaziri Literary Society was formally established in 1971 under the auspices of the late Hoj. Seyyed Ali-Mohammad Vaziri Yazdi, founder and benefactor of the library. Since then, it has hosted poetry readings, critique sessions, tributes to poets, and publication programs, playing a vital role in the literary development of Yazd.
Founded in 1955 and endowed to Imam Reza shrine in 1969, the Vaziri Library has flourished since 1979 Islamic Revolution. Today, it operates as both a library and museum under AQR’s cultural organization, serving scholars and researchers in Yazd.
