The mobile and telephone library services of Astan Qods Razavi (AQR) distributed 33,392 printed books among 20 cultural and educational centers during the first three months of the Iranian calendar year 1405.
According to Hoj. Seyed Jalal Hosseini, head of the Organization of Libraries, Museums, and Documents Center of AQR, “The resources were delivered in the form of 29,462 donated books and 3,930 volumes provided through long‑term lending programs. The books were sent to institutions located across various regions of Iran as well as to centers in Afghanistan”.
Hosseini noted that the highest number of book shipments during the spring period occurred in May 2026, when 14,690 volumes were delivered.
He stated: “Some 9,550 books were distributed in March–April, and some 9,152 volumes were sent in May–June, reflecting consistent efforts to support educational and cultural institutions”.
The official further pointed out that the majority of the recipient institutions were located in Mashhad, northeast Iran, and across Khorasan Razavi Province, where demand for educational resources was particularly high. Several other institutions across different provinces of the country also received significant numbers of books.
Among the recipients were mosques, public libraries, and educational institutions. In addition to domestic centers, some 1,000 donated books were delivered to Samangan Province in Afghanistan as part of efforts to expand access to knowledge and reading materials beyond Iran’s borders.
Hoj. Hosseini stressed that the initiative aims to promote cultural equity, strengthen promotion of knowledge, and expand reading culture throughout society.
He explained: “The books are selected based on the needs of each requesting institution and cover diverse subjects including religion, literature, history, psychology, and educational materials”.
He added that mosques, libraries, cultural centers, educational institutions, and welfare organizations can request donated or long‑term loaned books by submitting a formal request to AQR’s mobile and telephone library services.
