In this ceremony which was held on Thursday morning at Imam Khomeini Portico, Ayat. Alamolhoda highlighted tradition of the third Imam (AS) and the philosophy behind Karbala movement based on reliable sources.
Amidst the clamor of tears and sighs, Friday prayer leader of Mashhad drew the hearts of participants towards precious words of the eighth Imam (AS), saying: "O’ son of shabib, if you wish to weep for anything, then weep for Hussein..."
It was as if today, Imam Reza (AS) himself was inviting his pilgrims to weep over the tragedy of Imam Hussein (AS). This connection between Karbala and Tous was clearly manifested in today's Maqtal-khani ceremony, where every tear was a response to the command of the eighth Imam (AS).
In fact, every tear that rolled down a cheek today was a response to this call from the eighth Imam (AS). If Imam Reza (AS) said to weep for Hussein so that your sins may be forgiven, today's Maqtal-khani also emphasized this meaning.
Following the ceremony, lamentations and eulogies were recited by Ahl al-Bayt eulogist Amir Aref. The pilgrims, while softly uttering "Labbaik Ya Hussein," with broken hearts and tearful eyes, vowed never to allow the dust of forgetfulness to settle upon this tragedy.
